If you are like me, your medicine cabinet is probably piling up. You have your liquid Junior Tylenol (preferably the Generic Version), but your youngest just turned 16…..it’s probably time to let it go.
So……it’s spring…..let’s do a spring clean up, and I’m not talking about flushing it all. We don’t need our fish enjoying the side effects of all of our drugs. Take a moment and go to www.rcbc.ca On the right you can do a quick search to see who will take back your old drugs. Ten minutes can open up some space for your next ailment…..and help protect our fish.
Now as you dispose of those drugs, it might be time to do some spring cleaning on your benefit plan. How do you clean up a benefit plan…..it’s easy, you can review 3 basic things:
- Your plan
When was the last time you made meaningful changes to your plan? It amazes me how often we stick with plans that were designed 30 years ago. New technologies in drugs means you should have new technology in health benefits.
- Your value
Most people think that this means your monthly rate. That’s not the case….there is a simple test you can do to see if you are getting full value for your benefits…make sure that you understand how to measure that value, I’m happy to walk you through it in just a few minutes.
- Communication
If you don’t tell your employees how much you pay for their benefits, it’s time to look at Benestats. If you haven’t heard of Benestats, it’s basically a total rewards statement that we produce for our clients. Employee Benefits are a vital part of recruitment and retention, be loud and proud about your investment.
Are you ready to get started on your spring cleaning? Give us a call today and we can discuss your options to clean up your benefits plan—and your medicine cabinet too.
