Omar is the Interim Controller at Dupuis Langen.
He is a designated Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) in both BC and in NH (US) (and in ON. since 2011). He earned his BBA in Finance from Loyola University Chicago in 2000.
He started in Public Accounting in Toronto, ON., performing mainly audit/assurance and tax over 5 years, then went into mining where he spent another 5 years in that industry including becoming the CFO and Controller for a junior gold mining company listed on the TSX.V. After that, Omar went into consulting and non-profit public service for another 5 years.
Omar fluently communicates in 3 languages being English, Arabic and French.
In his spare time and when not volunteering, Omar is an avid tennis and soccer player where he won several competitions and tournaments. He loves reading, hiking and swimming, traveling, cooking and learning about other cultures and customs. During the Covid 19 pandemic, he discovered his interest in baking.
